People undergoing dialysis treatment may now reach 100k

Filipinos who are undergoing dialysis treatment may now reach more or less 100,000 throughout the Philippines given the 70,000 patients suffering from kidney failure in 2020.

Dr. Godofredo Galicia, Jr., Provincial Government of Bataan consultant on health, said kidney failure results from diabetes mellitus and hypentension. Galicia, a former member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, said smoking and excessive alcohol intake among men are considered contributory factors to diabetes. The former “bokal” from Orani was among the guests during the opening of Hermosa Dialysis Center, Inc. last July 6 on Roman Highway in Purok 6, Barangay Mambog, Hermosa, Bataan.

The provision of dialysis facility to Hermosa folks is in line with Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton’s health program of bringing health services closer to his constituents. Rep. Jernie Jett Nisay of Pusong Pinoy Party list who was also among those present in the opening of the center pledged P5,000 cash assistance to each of the center’s first 50 patients.
